Anglers Dean Meyer and Dan Tillery won the 2018 Tropic Star Tournament in Panama. The team is now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica.

Congratulations to Team Magic Lady, winners of the 2018 St. Lucia Billfish Tournament. The team was composed of six anglers from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, including Francis Moutett, Glen Charlett, Roger Aleung, Isiah Aleung, Ryan Agar and Barry Williams. They fished on a local boat due to unforeseen issues with their boat Magic Lady. The team released a total of six sailfish and two blue marlin for a total of 2,987 points. Team Magic lady is now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica.

Team Mamzelle won the 2018 Blue Waters Billfish Invitational, releasing 5 sailfish and 1 blue marlin. A total of 18 boats entered the tournament in 2018, targeting different billfish species. Team Mamzelle is now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica.

Congratulations to Team Edge, winners of the 2018 Halifax Nova Scotia International Tuna Tournament, for catching an 812-pound bluefin tuna. The winning team includes Jeff Potter, Ben Maloney, Peter Maloney, Dave Edgecombe and Dave Greenwood. A total of 15 boats entered the tournament in 2018, with the fleet quickly landing their quota of 10 fish. Team Edge is now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica.

Congratulations to Team Catchin' Caicos, winners of the 2018 Rotary Caicos Classic IGFA Billfish Release Tournament. The team consisted of Capt. Delroy Forester, Thad Harty and John Parker. The winners are officially qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship.

The crew of the boat Mojo were the winners of the 4th Tuna Fever Rogoznica in Croatia. They landed the heaviest tuna (69.2 kilograms, or 152.6 pounds) to win the tournament. The event was held on the Adriatic Sea near Rogoznica. The crew of Mojo included Captain Maro Mihočević, Igor Zdenjak, Miroslav Kozulj, Pero Sare and Denis Bajs. The team has already accepted the invitation to compete in the Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica in 2019.

Team Mapepire won the 2018 Tarpon Thunder Tournament, hosted by the Trinidad & Tobago Game Fishing Association. The 1st-place boat winners consisted of anglers Michael De Freitas, Luke De Gannes, Dean Fakoory, Christian Valdez, Dominic Wallace and Marc Telfer. Part of the top prize includes an invitation to compete in the Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica in 2019.

Team Marine Specialties outlasted the competition, taking home the first-place prize at the 2018 New Smyrna Beach Striker Offshore Fishing Tournament. The winners are officially qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship

Team Magic Lady, consisting of Christian Hadley, Barry Williams, Francois Mouttet, Sean Mendonca and Michael De Freitas, won the 23rd Annual Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament. With the win, Team Magic Lady qualified to represent the Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament and compete in the Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica in 2019.

The Lyford Cay Offshore Fishing Tournament in Nassau, Bahamas, celebrated its 20th anniversary on April 26-28, 2018. Twenty teams participated in the two-day event. While sea conditions proved favorable, the fishing was very slow. Anglers tried their luck in Abaco, Andros, the Berry Islands, Eleuthera, Exuma Sound and Nassau. One blue marlin and five sailfish were released. The tournament winner was Ready To Reel. We congratulate John Ready, Sean Ready, Rick Graham and Greg Langston on their win. The winners are now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica.

Team Clueless, made up of Robert Duff, Erik Van Vliet and Rossano Ricci , won Kenya's 2018 Watamu Fishing Festival. The successful competition included 25 boat entries and 80 anglers. Team Clueless' two blue marlin (both tagged) and a wahoo put them over the edge in 2018. The winners are now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica.

Team Scrap Metal, skippered by Peter Moore, won the 2018 Waihau Bay Nationals in New Zealand. They tagged two striped marlin and one short-billed spearfish to gain the winning points. The team is now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica.

Team Flying Fish won the 2018 5th Guatemala Offshore Brazilian Championship, taking place Feb. 25 to March 1. The winning team is now qualified for the 2019 Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica.
