FishStock Final Outcome
Well, the 8th Annual FishStock event is complete and the point totals for the New Smyrna/Daytona Beach Striker Tournament and the New Smyrna Beach Redfish and Trout Challenge have been tallied.
After two days of fishing team Virgin Hooker came out on top in the top boat division thanks to Jeff Rogers 32.8 pound first place kingfish, Donny Testa’s 67 pound first place tuna which also won the heaviest tuna category. Jason Poole also caught a 20.5 pound and Justin Desy weighed a 26.3 pound tuna to add to the teams total points. The team earned a total of $13,663.20. Congratulations! Coming in second place in the same division was the Fog Ducker with 46.8 points that earned the team $4,165.20. In Third Place, was the Let It Ride who caught the biggest fish of the tournament, an 80.8 pound wahoo on day 1 which earned them $1,602 as well as an additional $1,068 for winning the heaviest wahoo category. In the Dolphin category, Lady Angler, Brenna Croft of Ocala, FL weighed a 34.6 pounder worth $1,068 and a first place finish in the Lady Angler category. In the Young Angler category, Cody Van Eck of Daytona Bech, FL caught a 22.3 pound dolphin that was good enough for first place.
Anglers fishing in the New Smyrna Beach Redfish & Trout Challenge finished up their weigh-ins today and in the end, Edgewater, FL anglers, David Brown and Gary Malphurs won first place in the Top Boat category. The two anglers also took first place in the heaviest trout division and also took second place in the redfish division. The duo had a two day aggregate weight of 29.46 pounds and won a total of $4,200. Two more Edgewater, FL anlgers, Nathaniel and Corey Lemmon took top honors in the Redfish Category with a two day aggregate weight total of 25.88 pounds which earned them $900.
In the Lady Angler division, Cheryl Lane of Maitland, FL caught a 7.28 pound redfish that easily put her in first place. Junior angler, Jutin Kemp of Deland, FL also broke the 7 pound mark with his 7.06 pound redfish that gave him first place n the Junior Angler division.
